Obituary of Kenneth Phillips

Coffeyville - Kenneth L. "Kenny" Phillips, 56, of Coffeyville, passed away Monday, July 29, 2013 at his home. He was born July 6, 1957, at Kremmling, CO to Louis and Eleanor (Rock) Phillips. When he was young his family moved to Cheyenne, WY where he grew up and attended school. On December 4, 1980 he married Deborah Bray at Cheyenne, WY. Following their marriage they made their home in the South Coffeyville, OK and Coffeyville, KS area. Kenny worked at Roc-A-Chair, Acme Foundry and American Insulated Wire before becoming disabled. He was a member of Emmanuel Chapel in South Coffeyville. Kenny enjoyed woodcarving, playing his guitar, music, animals, liked being outdoors, but what he loved most was spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Deborah Phillips of the home; one daughter, Giustina Phillips and boyfriend, Tony Tolbert; and one son Joseph Phillips both of the home; and one brother, James Phillips of Coffeyville. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Kenneth Russell Phillips in 1988; one brother; and three sisters. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2013 at Emmanuel Chapel in South Coffeyville, OK, with Rev. Rick Krietemeyer, Rev. James Feltner, and Rev James Haynes officiating. Burial will be Restlawn Memorial Park in Coffeyville. Friends may call on Thursday, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Emmanuel Chapel in South Coffeyville, OK. The family suggests memorials to the Kenneth Phillips Memorial Fund; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W.
