Sedan - Ralph Dee "Lefty" Tresner, age 94, of Sedan passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan. He was born July 8, 1919 in Peru, Kansas to Hiram Albert Tresner and Mamie Belle Dennison. He grew up in rural Chautauqua County before graduating from Chautauqua High School. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country until being honorably discharged in 1946. On April 21, 1946 he married Madeline Hosmer in Caney, Kansas. They lived in many palces around Kansas as Ralph worked for Southwestern Bell until his retirement and there return to Sedan in 1980. He worked for forty years for Southwestern Bell as a Wire Chief. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Sedan, was past State Commander of V.F.W., he also enjoyed hunting and fishing He is survived by his wife Madeline Tresner of the home in Sedan, Kansas; twin brother, Roy Tresner of Niotaze, Kansas, many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and Charlie Tresner, one sister, Leota Custer, and his parents. Cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled at this time. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan.
