Coffeyville - Dorothy H. Forth, 92, of rural South Coffeyville, OK, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at her home. She was born February 10, 1921 at Coffeyville, to Walter Elmer and Oneta Gertrude (Church) Newberry. Dorothy grew up and attended school in Coffeyville, graduating from Field Kindley High School, while in high school she was a member of the Drum and Bugle Corp. After high school she attended and graduated from Coffeyville Community College, she also attended Baker College and Eastern Michigan University. On July 26, 1942 she married James T. "J.T." Forth at Coffeyville. Following their marriage they made their home in Wichita, in 1951 they moved to Michigan where her husband was Purchasing and Inventory Manager for Ford Motor Co. in Dearborn, MI. While living in Michigan, Dorothy worked at Faberware for 10 years retiring in 1983. After their retirement they continued to make their home in Michigan until 1984 when they returned to the Coffeyville area making their home in rural South Coffeyville, OK. Her husband preceded her in death on July 25, 2011. Dorothy was a member of Tyro Christian Church, Order of Eastern Star, was a Red Cross Volunteer, election monitor at the Election Board, a Docent at the Brown Mansion, and was active in the Tryo Christian Church "Rocks" Vacation Bible School. Survivors include two sons, Dave Forth and wife Diana of rural South Coffeyville, and Mark Forth of Siesta Key, FL; one daughter, Ann Overfield and husband Randy of Holly, MI; two grandchildren, Tim Forth and wife Jasey of South Coffeyville, and Dana Bustos and husband Colten of Oologah, OK; and two great-grandchildren, Tucker Forth of South Coffeyville, OK, and Ava Bustos of Oologah, OK. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Tyro Christian Church with David Bycroft officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park in Coffeyville. Friends may call on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials to Cornerstone Hospice or Rocks V.B.S. at Tyro Christian Church; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
