Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan, KS on Monday, July 8, 2013, The oldest of three siblings, one sister Donna Kay Roland and one brother Jimmy Lee Spellins. Two children, Julie Ann Lane, deceased at the age of 36 and one son Bruce Anthony Lane age 53. Grandmother to five grand kids and great-grandmother to seven great-grand kids and loving wife to Ronald (Ronnie) Paslay and one small but loving poodle Penny, still living. Jeana grew up in a time of hardships and uncertainty for most families. A time when work in the Bible belt was far and few and family's struck out to California for work and hopes of a better life. Not only did she have to attend to her younger siblings but was picking cotton and any other farm labor a child could do to help out. At the age of sixteen she married Ben Lane, then making her home in Brawley, California. After twelve years of marriage and giving birth to two lovely children, Julie & Bruce, she later divorced and met Ronnie. After a year of courtship, moved and was married on August 26,1971 at Miami, Oklahoma to Ronald W. Paslay. Settling in Kansas for forty-two years Jeana was a kind and caring spirit to all she met thus growing up with great faith in God and a voracious appetite for the Bible and all of Gods wisdom. A loving wife and mother, always caring and giving her best, never complaining stood by her husband"s side through good and bad times and never doubted his ability but always knowing God would provide. The last three and a half years of her life cancer set in and was the biggest challenge she would ever face. Through all the treatments, pain and suffering, she never lost hope and her faith in God was even stronger. Jeana not only was a loving mother and wife but also loved all animals. Having her own kennel for ten years and a sought after dog groomer for over twenty years she never stopped loving dogs. She always knew they would be there in the worst and best of times. Jeana had many talents outside of loving and caring for all things. She could sew, loved making jewelry, loved reading, a great cook, but most of all loved being a housewife, mother and loving wife. Her greatest talent was making friends regardless of color, gender or faith and talking to God on a daily bases. Jeana was a mother, wife, grandmother and friend who loved life and all things God created. May God forever grant her peace and comfort. She will be missed by many but never forgotten! Services will be held Monday July 8, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the LDS Church in Indepepndence, Kansas with burial following at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan. The family has suggested memorials to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and may be left in care of the funeral home.
