Coffeyville - Bonnie Jean Reardon, 81, of Coffeyville former longtime rural Liberty resident, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2008 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. She was born June 14, 1926 at Independence, Kansas to Leroy Forest and Lura Lee (Pike) Krienhagen. She grew up in the Independence area where she attended school, graduating from Independence High School in 1944. Following high school she attended nurses training at Independence and worked at Dr. Ferguson's medical office. On July 10, 1949 she married Byron Granville "Buck" Reardon at the Congregational Church in Independence. Following their marriage they made their home on their farm near Liberty. Mrs. Reardon was a homemaker and also worked at Sidman's Restaurant and Weinberg Western Wear in Coffeyville. She was a member of the Liberty United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and Progressive H.D.U. and also served as a 4-H Leader. Survivors include her husband, Buck Reardon of the home; three daughters, Marilyn Kathleen "Missy" (John) Melton of Olathe, Margaret Jean "Peg" Tole of Colby, and Mildred Irene "Molly" (Tracy) Dyke of Pierce City, MO; three sons, Daniel Byron "Danny" (Tammy) Reardon of Coffeyville, Rex Leroy (Susan) Reardon of Coffeyville, and Randall Granville "Randy" (Heather) of Grain Valley, MO; two sisters, Doris Heckbert of Peterborough, NH, and Mary Yoder of Savoy, IL; 14 grandchildren, Kimber, Tyler, Wyatt, and Kelly Melton and James Carter, Mark and John Tole, Aaron and Alison Dyke, Jonathan Reardon, Katie, Patrick and Abigail Reardon, and Maximus Reardon; and one great-grandson Jameson Carter. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2008, in the Liberty United Methodist Church in Liberty with Reverends Bill Booe and Jerry Bever officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday until 9:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Liberty United Methodist Church, or the Center for Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337. David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville is in charge of arrangements.
