Sedan - Elizabeth Ann (Raybourn) Dunn-Elam, a longtime Sedan resident passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014 in Dewey, Oklahoma following a lengthy illness She was born January 18, 1922 in Sedan, Kansas, one of 5 children to John and Ima (Chambers) Raybourn. Elizabeth grew up and attended school in Sedan, graduating from Sedan High School. She married Robert George Dunn August 13, 1946. They had three children, Roberta, Robert and Craig. Mr. Dunn preceded her in death in 1954. She then married Bernard Elam August 31, 1965, he also preceded her in death. She was a long time Chautauqua County employee, she held office as County Judge before becoming Deputy Register of Deeds. She is survived by Roberta (Jack) Artherton of Coffeyville; Robert J.(Judy) Dunn of Emporia; Craig (Becky) Dunn of Milton; Pam Haukaas of Wewela, SD; Gail Bryan of Kansas City, Mo; one brother, G.W. Raybourn of Tulsa, OK. Five Grandchildren, Four Great Grandchildren and one Great-Great Grandson. She was preceded in death by 2 Grandchildren, Jonathan Boomershine and Brittney Fox. A Memorial Graveside Service celebrating Elizabeth's life will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan with David Bycroft of Tyro Christian Church officiating. Following Elizabeth's wishes cremation has taken place. The family suggests memorials to the Sedan Area Foundation; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 North Douglas, Sedan, KS 67337.
