Coffeyville - Jimmie Joe Pattison, 79, of Coffeyville, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014, at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, OK. He was born October 18, 1934, at Barnsdall, OK to Clarence Edward and Gladys Rose (Nelns) Pattison. Jimmie moved with his parents to the Childers, OK area in 1942, where he grew up and attended school. He quit high school in 1949 and joined the National Guard in October 1949. His unit was mobilized in 1950 and was sent to Korea where he served from 1950 to 1951. On December 8, 1951 he married Edna Richards, they had four daughters, Judy L, Ruth E., Bonnie J, and Tammy J. The marriage ended in divorce in 1969. On August 11, 1970, he married Felicitas Ortiz, and helped raise her three sons, Benjamin K, Bobby S. and Charles H. Ortiz. She preceded him in death on May 10, 2007. When he was younger he worked in the oil fields in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Louisiana. At the age of 30 he began driving trucks for Bray Transport and Kaw Transport until retiring at age 62. Following his retirement he started an Electronics Repair and Sales store at 312 W. New, he closed the business in 2001 due to ill health. Jimmie enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching westerns on TV. He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, a life member of Disabled American Veterans, and Edna Masonic Lodge #345 A.F. & A.M. Survivors include three daughters, Judy Smith of South Coffeyville, OK, Ruth Jones of rural Altamont, KS, and Tammy Steele of Independence, KS; one brother, Clarence Edward Pattison, Jr. of Childers, OK; two sisters, Patsy McCabe of Bartlesville, OK, and Rebecca Hunter of Nowata, OK; one half brother, Howard Pattison of Nowata, OK; seventeen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Felicitas; one daughter, Bonnie Jane Pattison; and one brother, Thomas Earl Pattison. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Calvary Cemetery in Coffeyville.
