Mary Sue Parsons, 71, of South Coffeyville, OK, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville.
She was born August 10, 1941 at Coffeyville to Wayne and Ruth White. Mary Sue grew up on the family farm near Edna where she attended rural schools and graduated from Labette County High School at Altamont, and received her Associate Degree from Coffeyville Community College.
On April 12, 1962 she married Carlton Sonny Parsons at her parent's home in rural Edna. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville for 5 years before moving into the home they built in South Coffeyville.
Mary Sue was an accountant at Parmac in Coffeyville for 47 years. In her spare time she enjoyed painting, quilting, traveling throughout the United States, and watching her granddaughters play softball. What she loved the most was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Sonny Parsons of the home; one son, Terry Parsons and wife Kathy of Wann, OK; one brother, Cleo White of Tulsa, OK; and three grandchildren, Jessyka, Kelsy, and Jozy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and one sister.
A Memorial Service celebrating Mary Sue's life will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Emmanuel Chapel in South Coffeyville, OK with Pastor Rick Krietemeyer officiating. Inurnment will be in the Ball Cemetery east of Delaware, OK.
Friends may sign the register book on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
The family suggests memorials to a College Fund being established for Mary Sue's grandchildren; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
