Sedan - Marilyn McGregor, 90, passed away in Houston, Texas, on March 4, 2013. She was born in Sedan, Kansas, on September 28, 1922, to Raymond and Ella (Carra) Barnes. She graduated from Sedan High School in 1940.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Darlene Joyce
McGregor Schnapp, parents, five brothers, Lester, Edmund, Hugh, Carroll and Kenneth (Buddy) Barnes and two sisters, Myrabel Barnes Schreiner and Marian Barnes Davenport. She is survived by her daughter, Sue Fesler and son-in-law, Dr. Michael E. Fesler of Houston, Texas; her two granddaughters, Sabrina Fesler of Sugar Land, Texas, and Michaelyn Fesler of New York, New York; Eva and Lawrence Malone of Moline, Kansas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
During her lifetime Marilyn lived in five different states. She held numerous jobs, ranging from an inspector at Beech Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas, durin
g World War II to real-estate agent in Wichita Falls, Texas. After retiring she moved to Conroe, Texas, to be near her granddaughters. She was active in Eastern Star and Phi Sigma Alpha, Zeta Epsilon chapter. Marilyn was
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 25, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at The David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Association.an avid animal and bird lover and an excellent seamstress. She was an extremely devoted grandmother.
