Sandy D. Kuehn, 69, of rural South Coffeyville, OK, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK.
She was born August 7, 1943 at Coffeyville, to Lou and Florence (McGinnis) Knisley. Sandy grew up in the Coffeyville and South Coffeyville area where she attended school, and completed her education at Lenapah High School.
On August 23, 1960 she married Wayne Kuehn at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Coffeyville. Following their marriage they made their home in rural South Coffeyville.
Sandy was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, fishing, growing flowers, lending a hand to help others, especially anything that benefited the South Coffeyville Fire Department; and loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne of the home; two daughters, Sue Sanford and husband David, and Kim Lofts and husband Jeff all of South Coffeyville; one sister, Mary Jane Kitterman of South Coffeyville; three grandsons, Cody Sanford, Shane Lofts and Trent Lofts; numerous nieces and nephews, and all the friends she considered a part of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Clifford "Sonny" Knisley; one nephew, C.L. Knisley; and two brothers-in-law, Frank Pfister, and Jack Kitterman.
A Memorial Service celebrating Sandy's life will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2013 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Peckman officiating. Inurnment will follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery at Lenapah, OK. Following Sandy's wishes cremation has taken place.
Friends may sign the register book on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, or the South Coffeyville Fire Department; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
