Obituary of Gena Marie Thomas

Coffeyville - Gena Marie Thomas, 43, of Coffeyville, KS, formerly of Orange County, CA, entered heaven on Tuesday, February 5, 2013. Gena was born in Honolulu, HI in 1969 and became a happy beach baby. She always loved being at the ocean and hoped that one day she would be able to swim with the dolphins and whales. Gena had a beautiful voice and sang with praise bands of Calvary Chapel at Dana Point and Coast Hills in CA. She now is free to sing with the angels and walk with Jesus. Gena was a beautiful, caring woman who was loved by many for her sincere kindness and compassion toward people and animals. Her family and friends will miss her lovely smile and joyous sense of humor. Gena is survived by her mother, Cherie Thomas of the home, much-loved Uncle Rod Fitz, Aunt Lana Fitz, cousins Suzanne Fitz-Gonzalez, Bernardo Gonzales, Danielle Sanzi, Tom Sanzi, Mark Warner, sister Valorie Thomas and brother Earl Thomas, Jr. and cousins of California; Uncles Bill Darrow and Bob Darrow, Aunt Rene Darrow, Stephanie, Jeff and Greg Darrow of Hawaii; and cousins Dee and Judy Roberts, Joni Toney, Bob and Tonya Roberts, Tim and Marci Roberts and their families of Coffeyville; cousins Tod and Margaret Roberts of Tulsa, OK; Gary and Mary Toney of Liberty, KS; Jason Toney of Florida and many other loved relatives and friends all over the United States. Gena was also very close to Pastor Mike Elrod and the many wonderful people of Westside Christian Church, Coffeyville, KS who loved, prayed and supported her through her "journey."
