Obituary of Donald Shepherd

Coffeyville - Donald Shepherd, 93, of Coffeyville, passed away Sunday January 20, 2013 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesvile, OK. He was born on February 24, 1919 to James and Iva (Fee) Shepherd in Miller, Kansas. Donald attended Admire High School. Following high school he attended Emporia State University where he received his bachelor's degree. Donald was in the U.S Army Air Core, where he served as a glider pilot. On June 6, 1943 he married Margurite Riggin at Lawrence, KS. Following their marriage they made their home in New York City until moving to Coffeyville about 15 years ago. His wife preceded him in death on April 30, 2008 Survivors include several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife and parents. Following Donald wishes cremation has taken place and no service has been schedule at this time. The family suggests memorials to the Coffeyville Friends of Animals, Coffeyville Regional Medical Center or the Brown Mansion; contributions may be left at the funeral home or mailed c/o David W.
