Martha Jean Thorn, 78, of Coffeyville passed away Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Guest House Estates in Caney, KS.
She was born March 10, 1934, at Kansas City, MO to Bill and Lillian Elizabeth (Schrengosht) Armstrong. She grew up and attended school in the Lawrence, KS area.
She married Rubben Harold Thorn. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville for many years. Her husband preceded her in death on August 22, 2007.
Martha was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include two daughters, Jeri Melton of Elk City, and Connie Bass of Dewey, OK; three sons, David Thorn of Emporia, Billy Thorn of Mississippi, and Mickey Thorn of Florida; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Following Martha's wishes cremation has taken place and a Memorial Graveside Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the Dewey Cemetery in Dewey, OK, with Chaplain Mike Graham of Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice officiating.
