Ruby M. Gurwell, 72, of Dearing, passed away Friday, January 11, 2013 at her home.
Ruby was born April 26, 1940 at Twin Fall, Idaho to Joseph L. and Eula B. (Young) Gurwell. She grew up and attended school at Buhl, Idaho and Arkansas.
She held various jobs, but her favorite was the years she spent as a Nurse's Aide at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
Ruby was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She loved to travel, crochet, and gardening.
Survivors include two sisters, Annie Miller and Violet Gillman both of Independence, many nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends.
A Memorial Service celebrating Ruby's life will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2501 West 8th St., Coffeyville, Ks. Following her wishes cremation has taken place and inurnment will be at a later date.
The family suggests memorials to the Seventh Day Adventist Church; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
