Coffeyville - Connie Sue Shields, 60, of Coffeyville passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, OK. She was born February 25, 1954 at Coffeyville to Olander and Beulah (Boganey) Shields. Connie Sue grew up and attended school in Coffeyville graduating from Field Kindley High School in 1972. She was a Certified Nurse's Aide at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center for many years until retiring due to her health. She married Johnnie Parker and he preceded her in death. Connie Sue enjoyed attending several different churches in Coffeyville. She also enjoyed reading, and working crossword puzzles. Survivors include two sons, Corey Shields and Jon Shields both of Tulsa, OK; her mother, Beulah Shields of Coffeyville; four sisters, Ella Mitchell of Newport, VA, Claudia Maxwell and husband Cornelius of Dayton, OH, Claretha Pouncil, and Arlene Britt and husband Mike of Independence; two brothers, Victor Shields of Des Moines, IA, and Lester Shields of Lithonia, GA; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and her best friend, Linda Burns of Coffeyville. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2014 at St. James United Methodist Church with Pastor Steven Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. Friends may call on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
