Pauline Catherine Maritt, 87, of rural Wann, Oklahoma, passed way Thursday, December 27, 2012 at her home.
She was born on December 9, 1925 to Ben and Ada (Green) Griswald in Coffeyville. She grew up in Coffeyville, where she atteneded country schools, she than later attended Field Kindley High School.
In August 1943 she married Orlin Maritt in Coffeyville, they were later divorced in 1975. Pauline never remarried.
Pauline worked numerous jobs, but her favorite job was being a farmer. She enjoyed rasisng cattle and playing bingo.
She is survived by one daughter, Cathy Vail and husband Raymond, Sr. of rural Wann, OK; one sister, Susie Rutledge of rural South Coffeyville, O; two grandson, Raymond Lee Vail, Jr., and his wife Tracie of Tulsa, OK, and Jonathan Vail and wife Maggie of Coffeyville; three great-granddaughters, Christina, Kayano and Marissa Vail of Coffeyville; one great-grandson, Sawaki Vail of Coffeyville; numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters; Bernadine McConnell, Leota Raper, and Marie Gann.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at First Southern Baptist Church with Pastor James Riekeman officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at this time.
The family suggests memorials to the Coffeyville Friends of Animals; contributions may be left at the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
