Mickey D. Staton, 77, of Coffeyville passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Caney Nursing Center in Caney.
He was born January 25, 1935, at Cushing, OK, to Harry Lee and Gladys (McGown) Staton. When he was young his family moved to Coffeyville where he attended school graduating from Field Kindley High School and McFarland Trade School.
Mickey was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. After receiving his discharge he worked as a draftsman for Petroleum Companies in Texas, before returning to Coffeyville. After returning to Coffeyville he worked at Eddie's Service Station, National Marketing Co. and later as a security guard for Eagle Security.
He married Dorrisann Angleton at South Coffeyville, OK.
Mickey was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Dorrisann Staton; one son, Monte Staton of Texas; three step-sons, David Beeman of Coffeyville, Rick Beeman and Harry Beeman both of Bartlesville, OK; one step-daughter, Cheryl Templeton of Bartlesville, OK; one sister, Zelda Stanley of Coffeyville; ten step-grandchildren, and eight step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Lisa Staton; and one brother.
A Memorial Service celebrating Mickey's life will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2012 at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. Military Honors will be conducted by V.F.W. Post #1022 and American Legion Post #20.
