Obituary of Doris Vesey

Coffeyville - Doris M. Vesey, 84, of Coffeyville, passed away Monday December 24, 2012 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. She was born on April 6, 1928 at Coffeyville to John and Lena (Lindenstruth) Hicks. She grew up and attended Coffeyville schools; graduating from Field Kindley High School in 1945. On September 14, 1946 she married William Vesey in Coffeyville. After marriage their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville. Doris worked at Gibson's, Automotive Controls Company and Acme Foundry. She retired from Acme Foundry in 1990. Doris was a member of First Southern Baptist Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading. Survivors include one son, Paul Vesey and wife Jane of Coffeyville; one daughter, Joyce Carrington and husband Stan of Drumright, OK; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son; Bert Vesey, two brothers and two sisters. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012 at First Southern Baptist Church with Rev. James Riekeman officiating. Private family interment will be at Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
