Coffeyville - Mildred Marie White, 91, of Coffeyville passed away Friday, December 21, 2012, at Windsor Place. She was born February 15, 1921, at Neodesha, KS to Thomas M. and Bessie A. (Dodson) Carter. Mildred grew up and attended school in Neodesha and Coffeyville and graduated from Field Kindley High School. On June 24, 1939, she married Edwin Leroy White, Sr. at Nowata, OK. Following their marriage they made their home in the Coffeyville area where they raised their family. Mr. White preceded her in death on April 16, 1989. She was a homemaker and also owned and operated a Fabric Shop. Mildred was a member of Central Church of the Nazarene, belonged to home demonstration clubs, served on the School Board, and was a 4-H Cooking and Sewing leader. Survivors include three sons, Tommy White and wife Judy of Coffeyville, Dan White and wife Charlotte of Coffeyville, and Jim White of Coffeyville; two daughter, Deanna Cox and husband Tom of Coffeyville, and Kathy Wheaton and husband John of Billings, MT; one sister, Luella Homes of Coffeyville; 21 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edwin Leroy White, Sr., two sons, Stephen White on December 23, 1976 and Edwin White, Jr. on July 30, 2012; one granddaughter, Patrina White on February 6, 1998; two brothers, Leonard Carter and Lewis Carter; and one sister, Edith Cochran. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the First Assembly of God with Rev. Randy DePriest officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
