Richard "Rick" R. Pollett, 42, of Dearing, passed away Saturday December 15, 2012 from injuries received in an automobile accident, near Miami, OK.
He was born on December 30, 1969 to Dickie and Victoria (Wren) Pollett in Coffeyville. Rick grew up and attended Coffeyville schools for a short time before attending Cherryvale and Wichita schools. Rick later went on to attend Coffeyville Community College Vo-Tech.
On July 29, 1989 he married Lisa Frey in El Dorado. After marriage they made their home in Dearing.
Rick worked as a mechanic for over 20 years, he later worked at R&R Rebuilders where he was a body man.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and belonged to a pool league. He enjoyed working on model cars, playing poker, but he most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Lisa of the home, one son; Brandon Pollett of Coffeyville, two step sons; Justin Jones of Wann, OK and Dustin Jones of Peru, his mother; Victoria Andrews of Oklahoma City, OK, step father; Tim Andrews of South Coffeyville, OKfour brothers; Mike Pollett of Dearing, T.J Andrews of South Coffeyville, OK, D.J Pollett of Coffeyville and Casey Andrews of Gulf Breeze, FL, three sisters; Shelia McAlister of Wichita, Amanda McDaniel of Las Vegas, NV and Corinna Andrews of Cherryvale and three grandchildren; Jalissa Jones of Coffeyville, Deyton Jones of Peru and Jayli Jones of Wann, OK.
He is preceded in death by his father, grandparents and one aunt.
Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday December 20, 2012 at Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville, with Pastor Randy DePriest.
Friends may sign the register book from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at David W. Barnes Funeral Home. Family will be receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Family suggests memorials to the Pollett Memorial Fund established at Condon National Bank in Coffeyville; contributions may be left at the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville Ks, 67337.
