Homer C. Duvall, 65, of rural Coffeyville, passed away Monday, December 10, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO.
He was born on February 24, 1947, near Russellville, AR, to C.H. and Agnes (Coffman) Duvall. Homer grew up and attended school in the Atkins, AR area.
In 1973 Homer and his family moved to the Coffeyville area.
On March 10, 1989 he married Norma Riley at Miami, OK. Following their marriage they continued to make their home in rural Coffeyville. Homer was a professional truck driver driving for Vitran Express.
In his free time he liked to work on old cars and enjoyed circle track racing.
Survivors include his wife, Norma of the home; one son, Michael Duvall and wife Mona of rural Independence; one daughter, Melissa Carpenter and husband Jerry of rural Edna; two step-daughters, Rhonda Jaimez and husband Andy, and Terri Wrights and husband Don, all of Coffeyvillle; two sisters, Helen Shaddon, Jane and Dean Kendrick all of rural Atkins, AR; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the North Edna Cemetery, with Pastor Ron Garrison of Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church officiating.
Friends may call on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
