Naomi C. Heslop, 91, of Coffeyville, passed away December 1, 2012 at Windsor Place Nursing Home.
She was born on December 31, 1920 to Charles and Hattie Mae (Lindbird) Hale in Morrilton, Arkansas. She grew up and attended schools in Morrilton.
On October 10, 1943 she married Floyd Heslop in Tyler, Texas. He preceded her in death on July 8, 2003. Floyd and Naomi moved to Bartlesville, OK in 1946 shortly after the end of World War II where Floyd worked for Phillips Petroleum and then to Independence, KS in 1954 where Floyd ran Heslop's Food Center. Naomi was a devoted homemaker, mother, and wife and enjoyed boating with her husband on Grand Lake in Oklahoma.
Naomi was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son; Steven Jeffry Heslop of Mason, Ohio, seven grandchildren, Mary (Heslop) Calvert, Jonathan Heslop, Lauren (Heslop) Hanson, Julia Heslop, Gina (Heslop) Jackson, Tod Heslop, and James Brownlee, and six great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd, one daughter Jann Brownlee, one son Jonathan Michael Heslop and parents.
Memorial service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, Dec 7, 2012, at the First Southern Baptist Church in Coffeyville, with Rev. James Riekeman officiating.
The family suggests memorials to the First Southern Baptist Church or the Windsor Place Nursing Home; contributions may be left at the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
