Sedan - Earnest Gene Brown, 53, of Sedan, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at his home in Sedan.
He was born on September 16, 1959 in Greeley, Colorado to William Brown and Betty (Lott) Allred. He later moved to Pawhuska, Oklahoma where he attended school. After high school he went to the Coffeyville Vo-Tech College in Coffeyville for his welding certification.
On April 11, 1981, he married Belinda Taylor in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. After their marriage they lived around Sedan as he worked as a laborer in the Oil Field. They later divorced.
Earnest was a member of the Choctaw Indian Tribe. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, his chickens and all of his animals.
He is survived by one daughter, Stacy Taylor-Hopkins of Niotaze, Kansas; three brothers, William Brown, Raymond Brown, and David Brown; two sisters, Irene Murphy and Donna Mae Smith; four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild.
Cremation has taken place and the family has not scheduled any service arrangements at this time.
