Raymond Joseph Doebel, 77, of Coffeyville, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2008 at South Coffeyville, Oklahoma.
He was born September 2, 1930, in Sterling, Oklahoma to Joseph and Hazel (Deeds) Doebel. As a child he moved to St. Paul, Kansas with his family. He grew up and attended school in St. Paul.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956, receiving an honorable discharge. Raymond was a farmer and had also worked for Halliburton and Dixon Industries.
On October 31, 1980, he married Dorothy (Joseph) Johnson at Coffeyville. Dorothy preceded him in death on November 10, 2005.
Mr. Doebel was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville.
Survivors include two brothers, Ronald J. Doebel of Red Crest, CA, and Robert J. Doebel of South Coffeyville, OK; and two sisters, Sister Mary Clare Doebel of Wichita, KS, and Philomena Blaes of Cherryvale, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one brother, Herbert J. Doebel.
A Rosary Vigil Service will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday (April 2, 2008) at Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday (April 3, 2008) at Holy Name Catholic Church with Father Jerome Spexarth officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Coffeyville.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
The family requests memorials to the Holy Name Catholic Church or Cornerstone Hospice in Bartlesville, OK; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, Kansas 67337.
