Coffeyville - Audrey Thompson, 90, of Coffeyville, passed away Tuesday November 6, 2012 at Windsor Place Nursing Home. She was born on February 6, 1922 to Joseph and Johnie (Cline) Miller in Nowata County, OK. She grew up around the Nowata area, and attended Wimer Schools. On January 12, 1940 she married David "Bill" Thompson in Nowata. After marriage they made their home in Nowata County on a farm for years until moving to Coffeyville in 1963. Audrey was a Nurses Aid for Coffeyville Regional Medical Center for 20 years until she retired. After retirement they moved to Woodland Shores at Grand Lake in Grove, OK. Shortly after Bill passed away in 1991 she moved back to Coffeyville. Audrey was a lifetime member of the Pleasant View Church of God, southeast of Valeda.. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, quilting, going on the AARP bus trips that took her numerous tourist sites, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She is survived by three sons, Raymond Lee Thompson and wife Florence "Bea" of Mt. Vernon, MO, Howard Glenn Thompson and wife Shirley of Hartshorne, OK, Marvin D. Thompson and wife Dorothy of Glenpool, OK; two daughters, Margie Heady of South Coffeyville, OK, Terry Pence and husband Greg of Joplin, MO; two sisters, Faye Keeton of Nowata, OK, Lois Neese of Toledo, OH; five grandsons, Rickey Lee Thompson, Tony Eugene Thompson, David Walker Thompson, Donald Lee Green, Darren Duane Heady; three granddaughters, Kim Williams, Jessica Liegh Thompson, Melissa Rae Thompson and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one daughter, Audrey Ann Thompson. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday 10, 2012 at the Pleasant View Church of God southeast of Valeda, KS with David Bycroft of Tyro Christian Church officiating. Burial will be at the North Edna Cemetery in Edna. Friends may call on Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Coffeyville Friends of Animals or the Pleasant View Church of God Building fund; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
