Obituary of Nancy Gile

Coffeyville - Nancy Gile, 71, of South Coffeyville, OK, passed away Thursday November 1, 2012 at Saint John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. She was born on January 25, 1941 to James and Esther (Patton) Swaithes in Kansas City, MO. She grew up and attended schools in Kansas City, graduating from Westport High School. After high school she continued her education at the Unviresity of Minnesota. Nancy was a Juvenile Correction officer for the Raytown Police Department in Raytown, MO. On September 15, 1979 she married Rickey Gile in Kansas City. Following their marriage they moved to Tampa, FL, and Memphis, TN, in 1995 they moved to Bartlesville, OK, where they lived for 11 years before moving to South Coffeyville in 2006. Nancy had a deep love for cats, she could never turn a cat away. She also enjoyed watching Puple Martins, gardening and was a big Elvis fan. She is survived my her husband Rickey Gile of the home; two sons, Bryan Hampton and wife Denise of San Fransisco, CA and David Hampton and wife Sharon of Bartlesville, OK; and two grandchildren, Ashley and Kristina Hampton. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Barbara. Following Nancy's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial services will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials to the SPCA or the Coffeyville Friends of Animals; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W.
