Obituary of Mary Irene Patteson

Sedan - Mary Irene Patteson, 77, of Cedar Vale, KS, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2012 at her home. She was born November 27, 1934 at Hewins, KS to Ode and Mayme (Sidwell) Marshall. Mary grew up in the Hewins and Cedar Vale area and attended Cedar Vale Schools. On July 1, 1951 she married Floyd "Pat" Patteson at Hewins, KS. Following their marriage they made their home in Cedar Vale for many years, they later lived in Altamont, KS, Lamar, MO, and Kingfisher, OK while Pat worked for management for Electric Cooperatives and as construction supervisor for Electric Companies. Following his retirement they returned to Cedar Vale to make their home. Mary was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include one son, Steve Patteson and wife Diane of Racine, WI; one daughter, Montra Beeler of Cedar Vale; one sister, :Louise Orsbun of Fort Smith, AR; two grandchildren, Gina Marie Patteson of Racine, WI, and Marshall Leon Beeler of Cedar Vale; two special friends she considered grandchildren, Travis Richardson, and Michelle Golden; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Round Mound Cemetery east of Cedar Vale with Rev. Jerry Bever officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan.
