Helen Banzet, 87, of Coffeyville, passed away Saturday October 27, 2012 at Windsor Place Nursing Home.
She was born on April 10, 1925 to Edgar and Macey (Robinson) Cawley at Parsons, KS. She grew up and attended schools in Parsons; graduating from Parsons High School in 1944.
On August 7, 1946 she married Melvin Banzet in Altamont, KS. They made their home in Parsons until they moved to Coffeyville in 1953, where she lived for 57 years. Melvin passed away on October 24, 2007.
Helen worked at Karbies Foodtown as a cashier for 40 years, she retired in 1983.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center Auxiliary.
She is survived by one son, Terry Banzet of Forsyth, MO, one grandchild and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Melvin, and one sister Opal Robinson.
A Memorial Service Celebrating Helen's life will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. John Collins and Rev. Ford Hall officiating.
Friends may sign the register book on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville
