Coila "Bootsie" Hayden, 77, of Coffeyville, passed away Friday, March 28, 2008, at her home.
She was born June 14, 1930 in Craig County, Oklahoma to Leonard and Evelyn (Corn) Metzen. Bootsie grew up in Craig County, Oklahoma receiving her elementary education at Grant Mound School; she attended Chetopa High School in Chetopa, KS.
On June 1, 1946 she married Glenn Hayden at Oswego, Kansas. Following their marriage they made their home in Coffeyville where Bootsie worked as bookkeeper at Metzen Brothers Truck Stop, she later worked at Pro-Am II Truck Stop in Catoosa, Oklahoma, until becoming bookkeeper at Kanoma Co-op in Coffeyville where she worked until retiring in 1990.
Survivors include her husband, Glenn of the home; one son, Glenn Hayden, Jr. of Coffeyville; two grandsons, Chad Hayden and Matt Hayden both of Coffeyville; and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Ted Metzen.
Private Family Graveside Services were held Sunday, March 30, 2008, in the Lake Creek Cemetery west of Bartlett, KS, with Pastor Daniel Knight of the Bible Baptist Church in Coffeyville officiating.
