Coffeyville - Byron Granville "Buck" Reardon, 87, of rural Liberty passed away Thursday August 9, 2012 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. He was born March 4, 1925 to Granville and Bernice (Housel) Reardon in rural Liberty. He grew up in rural Liberty, attended Round Prairie Rural School and graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School in 1943. After high school he continued his education at Coffeyville Community College and Pittsburg State University. On July 10, 1949 he married Bonnie Jean Krienhagen in Independence. After marriage they made their home in rural Liberty. Buck worked on the family farm his entire life. He attended Liberty United Methodist Church. He was a member of Montgomery County Conservation District for 18 years, Charter Board Member of SEK Grain, Verdigris Basin Advisory Board, and the FFA Advisory Board. Hewas an avid Coffeyville Community College Red Raven Football fan. Survivors include three daughters, Marilyn Kathleen "Missy" Melton and husband John of Olathe, Margaret Jean "Peg" Tole of Colby, and Mildred Irene "Molly" Dyke and husband Tracy of Pierce City, MO; three sons; Daniel Byron "Danny" Reardon and wife Tammy of Coffeyville, Rex Leroy Reardon and wife Susan of Coffeyville, and Randolph Granville "Randy" Reardon and wife Heather of Grain Valley, MO; fourteen grandchildren, Kimber Valencia, Tyler, Wyatt and Kelley Melton, Mark and John Tole, Aaron and Alison Dyke, Jonathan Reardon, Katie, and Patrick Nicholson, Abigail Reardon, and Maximus Reardon; and four great-grandchildren, Jameson Carter, Araceli and Luis Valencia and Brycen Huse. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bonnie and two sisters Giovanna Koons and Pauline Usher. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2012, in the Liberty United Methodist Church in Liberty, KS with Rev. Bill Booe officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center (CRMC) Foundation or the Liberty United Methodist Church; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
