Timothy Brant, 58, of Coffeyville, passed away Wednesday August 8, 2012 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
He was born on January 24, 1954 to William and Clover (Miller) Brant in Coffeyville. He grew up in Coffeyville; he attended Holy Name Catholic School, Roosevelt Middle School and graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School in 1972. After graduation he continued his education at Washburn University, earning a degree in Accounting.
He was on the USD 445 School Board, Coffeyville Pubile Build Commission and Coffeyville Chamber of Commerce. He was very active in baseball; coaching Coffeyville youth baseball since 1978. He coached many teams, taking the teams to the USSA and the Youth World Series Championship. He also helped coach the Field Kindley Golden Tornado's baseball team.
He is survived by his lifelong companion Cheryl Myatt, son Chance Myatt and wife Nedra of Wichita, and their daughter Evelyn Myatt; one brother; John Brant and wife Teri of Ketchum, OK, four nephews; Jeff Brant and wife Kerri of Stillwater, OK, Josh Brant and wife Alicia of Moore, OK, Matt Dodson of Stillwater, OK and Steven Dodson of Los Angeles, CA, one great-niece; Falon Brant of Stillwater, OK, one great-nephew; Nikk Chuculate of Newcastle, OK and many lifetime friends.
Timothy is preceded in death by his parents and one sister Donna Brant.
Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday August 10, 2012 at David W. Barnes Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday August 11, 2012 at Holy Name Catholic Church with Father Ben Nguyen officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials to the Coffeyville City Recreational Youth Baseball Program; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
