Coffeyville - Sandy L. Alexander, 73, of Coffeyville, passed away Friday morning, June 29, 2012 at Windsor Place. She was born October 5, 1938 at Wichita, KS to Dewey and Helen (Austin) Davis. When she was young her family moved to Coffeyville where Sandy grew up and attended school graduating from Field Kindley High School and Coffeyville Community College. On April 30, 1971 she married Thomas Alexander at Winslow, AZ. Following their marriage they made their home in Arizona, and Missouri before returning to Coffeyville in 1982. After returning to Coffeyville, Sandy was very active with Genesis, and was the manager of Sycamore Landing for many years. Her husband preceded her in death on January 3, 2006. Sandy was a active member of the First Baptist Church, and Genesis, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include three sons, Mike Alexander and wife Rita of Tyro, Mark Alexander and wife Karen of Buckeye, AZ, and Mitch Alexander and wife Becky of Bellevue, NE; two daughters, Kathy Cooper and husband Bert of Bellevue, NE, and Nancy Alexander of Bellevue, NE; one sister Connie Titus and husband Larry of South Coffeyville, OK; and 13 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one grandson. Following her wishes cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service Celebrating Sandy's life will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Randall Terrill officiating. Friends may sign the register book on Monday, July 2, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials to Genesis; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
