Obituary of Lucille Hammond

Sedan -Lucille Frances Hammond, age 88, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014 at the Pleasant Valley Manor in Sedan, Kansas. She was born February 7, 1926 in Hanford, California to Thomas McGinnis and Hazel (Boseman) McGinnis. She grew up in California where she attended schools in Wosco, California and graduated from high school in Bakersfield, California. On August 30, 1947 she married Jack Hammond in Kern County, California. They made their home in California where she worked as a manager at a Lake Resort and later going to LPN school and worked as a caregiver for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack. She lived in Pawhuska and Elgin before moving to Sedan ten years ago. Lucille was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Templeton, California Post 6407. She enjoyed caring for people and liked to go camping and loved the wildlife. Survivors include seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren Lucille was preceded in death by three daughters, two brothers, and her parents. Cremation has taken place and a service is not scheduled at this time.
