Coffeyville - Luther W. Tickle, 62, of Coffeyville passed away Sunday May 27, 2012 at his home. He was born July 17, 1949 to Henry and Mary (Comstock) Tickle at Coffeyville. Luther grew up and attended schools in Dearing, Wayside and Roosevelt Middle School. On April 22, 1967 he married Cidney Smith at Coffeyville; they made their home in Coffeyville. Shortly after marriage Luther joined the United States Army. Luther work at Parmac, Acme, Funk and Sunset before he had to retire due to a car wreck. He was a member of the Southview Church of God, a lifetime member of the V.F.W, he an evangelist. Luther enjoyed fishing, playing cards, yahtzee, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Cidney Tickle of the home, one son; Raymond Tickle of Coffeyville, one daughter; Christy Tickle of Coffeyville, Four brothers; Henry Lee Tickle, Jr., of Coffeyville, James Ray Tickle of Coffeyville, and Jack Arthur Tickle of Coffeyville, and Allen Tickle of Bartlesville, two sisters; Albertis Louise Bray of Coffeyville, and Ellen Tickle of Independence, one step-father; Ronald "John" Douglas of Coffeyville, one step-mother; Elizabeth Tickle of Dearing, four grandchildren, and many other dear he adopted in his heart. He is preceded in death by his father Henry Tickle, Sr., and his mother Mary Douglas and one daughter. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the Southview Church of God in South Coffeyville, OK, with Rev. John Lockaby and Rev. William Vance officiating. Burial will be in Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville Friends may call on Friday June 1, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials to Southview Church of God, or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
