Charles K. Ferguson, 79, of Coffeyville passed away Friday May 25, 2012 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
He was born December 20, 1932 to Frank and Hazel (Thompson) Ferguson at Coffeyville. Charles grew up in rural Coffeyville where he attended Old Parker School and Field Kindley High School.
On July 11, 1954 he married Pauline Grother at Tyro, after marriage they made their home in Coffeyville. Charles later joined the Army. Charles worked at Morrow Foundry for many years until he retired in 1996, he also worked various construction jobs.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Pauline Ferguson of the home, three sons; Kenneth Ferguson of Coffeyville, Roger Ferguson of Caney, Richard Ferguson of Independence, one daughter; Rita Stultz of rural Caney, four sisters; Virginia Stout of Independence, Velma Pippin of Coffeyville, Martha Runyon of Tyro, Karen Johnson of Independence, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by one son; Steven Ferguson, one daughter Kaylene Ferguson and his parents.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the Trinty Lutheran Chruch in Caney, with Pastor Ken Lott. Burial will be in Trinty Lutheran Cemetery southwest of Tyro.
Friends may call on Monday from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to Trinty Lutheran Church in Caney or chairty of the donor's choice; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
