Coffeyville - Beverly Rowe, 86, of Coffeyville, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Windsor Place. She was born April 24, 1926, at Kansas City, MO to Harold James and LeOrrel (Berkihiser) Bagby. Beverly grew up and attended school in Coffeyville graduating from Field Kindley High School and Coffeyville Community College. In 1942, she married Robert G. Wood, they were later divorced. In October 1961 she married Keith L. Rowe at Miami, OK. Following their marriage they made their home in Wichita. After retirement they returned to Coffeyville. Dr. Rowe preceded her in death in June 2000. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Coffeyville, Order of the Eastern Star, serving as Past Worthy Grand Matron for the State of Kansas, Daughters of the Nile, Rainbow Girls, PEO, served on the Coffeyville Public Library Board. In the 1950's she helped organize and sponsor the Coffeyville Westeraires Youth Riding Group. She played the organ for many years at horse shows, rodeo's and other events. Survivors include one daughter, Cheryl Bowen and husband Bill of Parsons; one step-daughter, Judith Dewhirst of South Carolina; two grandsons, Russ Bowen and wife Dawn of Omaha, NE, Doug Bowen and wife Tanya of Dallas, TX; two step grandsons, Rob Dewhirst of Lawrence, KS and Brian Dewhirst of South Carolina; and five great-grandchildren, Ashley, Tyler, Nick, Amber, and Alex. She is preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church in Coffeyville with Pastor Diane Massey officiating. Burial will be in Fairview in Coffeyville. Friends may call on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials to the Coffeyville Public Library; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
