Obituary of Marie Metzinger

Coffeyville - Marie E. (Benning, Jennings) Metzinger, 92, of Coffeyville, passed away Monday evening, May 7, 2012 at Windsor Place Nursing Home. She was born on December 21, 1919 to Herman and Elizabeth (Mavers) Benning at rural Montgomery County. On December 7, 1942 she married Jerald Jennings in Medford, Oregon. Jerald passed away in June 1963. Marie later married John Metzinger on February 14, 1974. John passed way in March 1993. Marie was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church, she was also involved in the 4-H where she was a leader for 50 years. She enjoyed gardening and making quilts. She is survived by two daughters; Jerri Lowrance and husband Jerry of Coffeyville and Janet Freel of Coffeyville, Seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, one sister Adeline Ranes and one brother Richard Benning. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, three sisters; Josephine, Alice and Mary, five brothers; Roy, Rayfield, William, Lawrence and her twin brother Martin. A Rosary Vigil Service will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 11, 2012, at Holy Name Catholic Church with Father Ben Nguyen officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Coffeyville Friends may call on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
