Obituary of Patricia Lee Morton

Sedan - Patricia Lee "Pat" Morton, age 80, of Sedan, Kansas passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She was born March 15, 1927 in Eureka, Kansas to Francis "Virgil" and Inez (Haney) Pennington. She attended and graduated from Eureka High School in 1945. She married Clarence Edwin "Ed" Morton on August 4, 1946 in Eureka, Kansas. They lived in Severy until moving to Sedan, Kansas in 1948. She was the secretary at Eureka Motors and County Engineers. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sedan, Methodist Women, the Sedan Chamber of Commerce and was active with the Chautauqua Jelly Company in years past. She was the treasurer for the First United Methodist Church, was a choir member and belonged to the Jayhawkers Sam's Camping Club. She was also a housewife, taking care of her family and was a very loving mother. She is survived by her husband Ed Morton of the home in Sedan, Kansas; one son, Mark Lee Morton of Elgin, Kansas; one grandson, Mason Ware and his wife Chana of El Reno, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael Morton and one grandson, Ben Ware. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 14, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Sedan, Kansas with Reverend Jerry Bever officiating. Inurnment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan, Kansas. Register Book signing will be on Thursday, March 13, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Friday at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan, Kansas The family has suggested memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church Youth Group and these remembrances may be left in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
