Obituary of Paul White

Coffeyville - Paul G. White, 73, of Coffeyville passed Friday Morning April 27, 2012 at his home. He was born on November 4, 1938 to Carl and Ethel (Bridges) White at Houston, MO. Paul grew up and attended schools in Huston where he graduated from Huston High School. On November 27, 1957 he married Betty Gentry at the First Baptist Church in Houston, MO. Following their marriage they lived in Houston for a short time before moving to Joplin, MO where Paul worked at Dryer Shoe Store. In 1960 they made their home in Coffeyville. After moving to Coffeyville, Paul worked at Dryers Shoes and eventually joined the business as a partner. He continued to serve the community in the business for over 43 years. Paul was a member of the First Baptist Church, Sertoma and a long time member of the Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed fishing and meeting up for breakfast with his friends. He is survived by his wife Betty White of the home, one son; Michael and Renee White of Joplin, MO, two daughters; Brenda and Duane Powell of Coffeyville and Sonya and James Cantrell of Coffeyville, one brother; Jack and Barbara White of Huston, MO, one sister; Bonnie and Dwaine Miles of Rolla, MO, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother Bill White and one step-brother Gene Watson. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville with Dr. Randall Terrill officiating. Burial will be in Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville Friends may call on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
