Obituary of Floyd McDaniel
Please share a memory of Floyd to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Floyd Raymond McDaniel, Jr. fondly known as Ray, was escorted into Heaven on April 22, 2012 by his son Christopher Lynn McDaniel, and loyal pet, Peanut. Upon his arrival, he was greeted by his father Floyd Sr. and mother Nordene (Miner) McDaniel.
When Ray began his journey home, he was 56 years old. Born on June 6, 1955, he was the eldest of 4 children, one brother Larry and two sisters Diana Lepley and Karen Tosh.
Family came first with Ray. His proudest accomplishments were becoming a father to his two boys, Christopher Lynn and David Ray, grandfather to Breana Marie, marrying his wife Peggie (Margaret Anne Crouch) and being in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Independence Ward, and becoming a stepfather.
Ray was a lifelong resident of Coffeyville and graduated from Field Kindley High School class of 1973. After graduation he joined the Army National Guard. He was well known for his work with the DARE program and as an officer serving the community with Coffeyville Police Department and Montgomery County Sheriff's Department.
After a private family viewing, Ray was cremated and interred with full Military and Police Honor Guards in his wife's family vault in New Jersey. He is survived by his wife Peggy McDaniel, son, David Ray McDaniel, granddaughter, Breana McDaniel, his three siblings, three uncles, Bob Miner, Milton Miner, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ray's cookouts, holiday meals, love, laughter, and generosity shared with family and community will be sorely missed.
