Coffeyville - Harold B. Rauch, Jr., of Broken Arrow, OK, passed away Monday, April 16, 2012 in Tulsa, OK. He was born March 10, 1922 in Coffeyville, KS the first of four sons to Fern R. (Young) and Harold Benton Rauch. He grew up and attended Coffeyville schools and later graduated from Pittsburg State College. In 1941 Harold married Rubye E. Johnson who preceded him in death in 1981. This marriage provided a daughter, Terry Ann who died a short time after birth in 1948. In 1950 a son, Stephen Kent was born. Harold served in the Air Force during WWII with the 3rd Tactical Air Command at various locations. In 1991 he married Charlotte J. Ziegler, who died in 1998. In 2002 he married Bobbie R. Needham who survives. Harold began working at an early age for his Grandfather, J.C. Rauch who was in the Real Estate and Insurance business. Just prior to entering the military service he worked for the National Refining Co. After returning in 1946 he was employed by the Ozark Smelting & Mining Co. (The Sherwin-Williams Co.) as Plant Accountant & Office Manager. In 1971 he was employed in Tulsa, OK, as Secretary/Treasurer of a newly formed Computer Co. In early 1972 he returned to Coffeyville and joined Funk Mfg. Co. becoming Director of Finance from where he retired in 1983. Harold enjoyed his work, family and other related challenges. In later years he was able to spend considerable time golfing. Harold served on the Coffeyville City Commission, The Coffeyville Country Club Board, The American Red Cross Board and numerous other civic committees and organizations. Harold is survived by his wife, Bobbie R. of the home in Broken Arrow, OK; two brothers, James C. of Topeka, KS, and Carl R. of Coffeyville, KS; a son Stephen K. and wife Vicki of Coffeyville, KS; granddaughter, Holly Oertel and husband Mark of Lawrence, KS; many nieces, nephews, several special step-children, and step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Terry Ann, a brother Eldon, and a niece Charlotte Akers Sanford. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church in Coffeyville with Pastor Diane Massey of the First Presbyterian Church and Rev. John Collins of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park in Coffeyville with Military Honors conducted by V.F.W. Post #1022 and American Legion Post #20, and Masonic Rites conducted by Keystone Masonic Lodge #102 A.F. & A.M. Friends may call on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the First Presbyterian Church of Coffeyville, or the church or charity of the donors choice; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
