Margaret Graheck, 93, of Coffeyville passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Coffeyville Medical Regional Center.
Margaret was born on December 11, 1918 at Rural Liberty to John and Elizabeth (Kirchoff) Emming. She grew up and attended school in rural Liberty, after High School Margaret attended Mercy Hospital RN program where she received her Registered Nurse license.
After Margaret completed her nursing license, Margaret served in the United States Army Nurse Corp as a 2nd lieutenant during World War II.
On January 11, 1948 she married Art Graheck at Holy Name Catholic Church. After marriage they made their home in Coffeyville.
Margaret was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and Faith in Light.
She is survived by one daughter Ann Erne of Little Rock, AR, one son Larry and his wife Ann Marie of San Diego, CA, three granddaughters Sharon Hoevet of Blue Springs, MO, Angela Skipworth of Little Rock, AR and Julie Rice of Little Rock, AR and five great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, one daughter Mary Jane Graheck in 2010 and her parents.
A Rosary Vigil Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville. Followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., April 14, 2012, at Holy Name Catholic Church with Father Ben Nguyen officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Coffeyville with military honors conducted by the U.S. Army Honor Guard, Fort Riley, KS.
Friends may call on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
The family suggests memorials to Holy Name Catholic Church; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
