Donald Leach Snodgrass, 88, of Coffeyville, formerly of the Independence and Fredonia areas passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012 at the Caney Nursing Center in Caney.
He was born August 8, 1923 at Springfield, CO to Guy and Effie Ann (Leach) Snodgrass. He grew up and attended school in Colorado and Missouri.
Mr. Snodgrass was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy.
After his discharge from the Navy he became a Barber, and later owned and operated a gas station for several years before becoming a rancher owning ranches in Montana, Colorado, Nevada, Idaho, Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann Gardner and husband David of Coffeyville, and Emma Reid and husband Robert of Reno, NV; five grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2012 in the Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville with Chaplain Mike Graham of Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice officiating.
Friends may sign the resister book on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
