Obituary of Delta Glodene Sanders

Sedan- Delta Glodene Sanders, 89, of Sedan, Kansas passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the Sedan City Hospital. She was born May 17, 1922, in the Lowe Community, west of Sedan to Thomas William Banning and Lettie Blanche (Sanborn) Banning She was raised in the Lowe community where she attended school until the 8th grade at the Lowe School. On February 3, 1942 she married Roy D. Sanders in Sedan, Kansas to this union three children were born. They lived in Sedan and Glodene worked as a nurse's aide for forty two years at the Sedan City Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 3, 1979. She was preceded in death by her son, Leroy Sanders, husband, parents, four sisters, Eleanor Banning, Thelma Sanders, Neva Jean Sanders, and Lois Petty. She is survived by one daughter; Sandra Sue Dilley and husband Don of rural Sedan, Kansas; one son, Norman Sanders and wife Pat of Sedan, Kansas; two sisters, Beulah Petty of Dexter, Kansas and Treva Gentry of Sedan, Kansas; one brother, Wesley Banning of Howard, Kansas; five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. A Graveside service will be held Friday, March 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan with Pastor John Warring of the First Christian Church officiating. Family and friends may call on Thursday, March 8, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan. The family has suggested memorials to the Pleasant Valley Manor and those remembrances may be left in care of the David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
