Julia Jo Koplin, 85, of Caney passed away Tuesday afternoon (February 26, 2008) at the Caney Nursing Center.
She was born on January 11, 1923 to Joseph and Jessie (Gordon) Loriaux in Caney. Julia moved around as a child with her parents, living in Fredonia, El Dorado, Hutchinson, and Topeka, where she graduated from high school. Julia attended El Dorado junior college.
On February 8, 1948 Julia married Ivan Koplin in Wichita, Kansas. After their marriage, Julia and Ivan lived in Wichita and Marysville, Kansas before making their home in Caney where she was a librarian for 25 years.
Julia is survived by her husband, Ivan of the home.
She has been preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 29, 2008 at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Peckman officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Sunnyside Cemetery.
Friends may call on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Caney from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
