Coffeyville -
O.S. "Lyn" Usher, 59, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 in her son's home in Coffeyville.
She was born July 30, 1954 in Sedan, Kansas to Leon W. and Guyla Jo (Tharp) Usher. She went to grade school in both Winfield and Sedan. She moved to Coffeyville in 1967 and graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1972. In 1977, she married Ronald R. Rooks and had two sons, Damon and Robert "Robbie". They later divorced. In 1982, she married Clinton D. Buck and they also divorced.
Lyn worked a CNA/CMA in Coffeyville, Sedan and Caney until she graduated from CCC in 1982. She then worked as apartment manager until 2005 when she moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. She worked in the back office of Met Life and Direct Energy. In 2012, she moved back to Coffeyville due to health reasons and to be closer to her family.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents.
She is survived by her sons, Damon and Robbie, both of Coffeyville; three brothers, Christopher L. Usher of Fairplay, Missouri, D. Scott Usher of Coffeyville and Todd Condit of Martinez, California; six grandchildren, Brandon, Sydney, Dakota, Jordan, Cooper and Ava; two nieces, two nephews; 2 step-nieces; one great-niece, one great-nephew, two step great-nieces and two step great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Christ Church, 11th and Siggins in Coffeyville, Kansas with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, March 14, 2014 at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The family has suggested memorials to the Church of Christ Church in Coffeyville and may be left in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 N. Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
