William I. Miller, 83, of South Coffeyville passed away early Monday morning (February 25, 2008) at the Continuous Care Center of Bartlesville.
William was born on August 30, 1924 in Toronto, Kansas to William Foster and Irma Miller.
He attended school in Independence, graduating from Independence High School. Upon graduation, William enlisted in the service and was on active duty during WWII.
William was married to Christine McClure who has preceded him in death.
He worked for a few different places throughout his lifetime, including Motorola in Chicago, and retired as an Electronics Engineer at Funk Manufacturing here in Coffeyville.
William attended services at the Amazing Grace Church here in Coffeyville and was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion.
William is survived by two step-daughters, Phyllis Hilger of Wichita and Charlotte Wilson of Winfield; and numerous brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
He has been preceded in death by his wife, Christine; his parents; and his brother, Lloyd.
Services will be held at Amazing Grace Chapel on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Gary Stevens officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday, February 27 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
