Coffeyville - Ronald Edward Schuetz, 77, of rural Coffeyville, passed away Friday, December 23, 2011 at his home. He was born on October 14, 1934 in Coffeyville to Edward and Edna (Lee) Schuetz. Ronald attended Dearing Grade School and graduated from Field Kindley High School where he was active in FFA. He served in the U.S. Army with six months active duty and six years in the Reserves. Ronald was employed at Comet Mobile Homes, Western Publishing, and retired from Cook Pump Co. He enjoyed working on the farm, gardening, and fishing. Ronald took great pride in the strawberries he grew for many years. Ronald attended the Dearing Christian Church. Survivors include one brother, Richard (Patricia) Schuetz of Coffeyville; two nephews; two nieces; eight great-nephews; and one great-niece. He was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville with Pastor Jamie Regis of the Dearing Christian Church officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family suggests memorials to the Dearing Christian Church; contribution may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
