Sedan - Jackson Patton Fisher, age 92, of Sedan, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at the Sedan City Hospital in Sedan.
He was born April 21, 1919 in Slick, Oklahoma to C.J. and Rebecca (Vineyard) Fisher. He grew up in Stanley, New Mexico graduating from Stanley High School. After high school he attended Southwestern Junior College.
On June 5, 1940 he married Jessie Helen Watson in Las Vegas, New Mexico. They lived in numerous locations before moving to Ooltewah, Tennessee and then moving to the rural Sedan area in 1982. He worked as a mechanic, cabinetry, and also was a plumber. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen on September 7, 1997
He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Sedan. He also enjoyed his grandkids, woodworking, and loved to work on cars.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and three brothers.
He is survived by two daughters, Peggy Ann Fisher of Coos Bay, Oregon and Patti Ruth Milliken of Palermo, Maine; two sisters, Reba Mooney of Augusta, Kansas and Effie Birch of Chanute, Kansas; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Sedan. Inurnment will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan.
The family has suggested memorials to the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Sedan. Those remembrances can be left in care of the David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas,Sedan, Kansas 67361.
