Maxine Wilson, 87, of South Coffeyville, OK, passed away Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville.
She was born August 27, 1924 at rural South Coffeyville, OK to Oscar and Pearl (Smith) McClure. Maxine grew up in the South Coffeyville area and attended rural schools.
On March 27, 1943 she married John Richard Wilson at Nowata, OK. Following their marriage they made their home in South Coffeyville. Mr. Wilson preceded her in death on March 28, 1999.
Mrs. Wilson attended Emmanuel Chapel in South Coffeyville. She enjoyed oil painting, crafts, and collecting dolls.
Survivors include one son, Gary Wilson and wife Billie of Coffeyville; one daughter, Shirley Conger and husband Vernon of Coffeyville; two brothers, Kenneth McClure of South Coffeyville, OK, and Bill McClure of Coffeyville; two sisters, Beulah Wisely of Coffeyville and Jean Howard of Coffeyville; four grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and eleven step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Jerry Lee Wilson; and two sisters, Nellie Oneslager, and Christine Miller.
Graveside Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville with Pastor Gary Stevens of Amazing Grace Chapel officiating.
Friends may call on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
